I taught our art class this week and we learned about Antonio Canova. I should have had the kids all bring their own butter, but I didn't think about it until it was too late. Instead we used a non-drying clay that the kids couldn't take home because we will use later for another class... but we did take pictures! Well, some of the kids smashed theirs before we could take pictures, so here are some of their lions:

This one isn't a lion, it's a totem,
Good job everybody. Sorry, we didn't get a picture of all of them. I like how the older kids are seeing form as 3 dimensional, and getting much more realistic; and the younger kids are still completely happy that they get to make stuff, and are always so proud of what they do.

Such a cute Turkey!
wow, when I saw those lions I thought I better say my prayers.... Hmmm, I guess I'm learning my lesson from my daughter requesting that we talk about Daniel and the lions den every night at bedtime.
